Never been in this situation and cannot imagine the loss. But why give a special credit there?
And if one wants to be cynic, why not give credit for parents whose child was killed in a crossfire between gangs? Have been too many.

(23,832 posts)It's a credit for the investment and costs of pregnancy. Children who have been "killed in a crossfire between gangs" have already been eligible for dependency/exemption status.

I did not look at the form but I suppose it would be equivalent to one dependent..

To my knowledge, there was no tax credit in 1989. Maybe there should have been one to reflect the cost of visiting her grave almost every day for 6 months before I could let go of the grief.
