Minneapolis, like so many other cities, have struggled so hard to keep their downtowns alive (I remember "The Hole That Ate Nicollet Mall" days of the 80's when Donaldson's burned down (Thanksgiving Day's fire in 1982) and they didn't build anything there for years)....

Sad to see that we're back to that kind of thing and worse.

It's unfortunate that the same thing is happening downtown. That is in no way a comment against the protesters and their cause. At least in South Minneapolis, the arson and vandalism was primarily committed by white people who don't live in the area.

The Downtown Council members can only blame themselves. There desired downtown Shoppers were to come form Minnetonka,and Eden Prairie and Orano and Edina.

One of the largest issues was the ability to access downtown shopping,always under construction.
