Union to provide free home heating inspections for needy in St. Louis Area.

Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri will provide heating system inspections to hundreds of disabled and needy homeowners Saturday, Oct. 11, in the City of Ferguson, St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County.

The annual Project “Heat’s-On," now in its 28th year, is organized by Local 562 Business Manager/Secretary-Treasurer John O’Mara and Michael Hurley, president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Eastern Missouri.

The two organizations will donate their time, resources and materials valued at approximately $135 per home free to the homeowner, providing a 34-point system inspection of the furnace

More than 100 service trucks will be donated by the contractors from the Mechanical Contractors Association. Crescent Parts & Equipment, Ferguson Enterprises, NSC (National Sales Company) and other vendors will donate filters and batteries to be installed as needed.
