St. Louis Cops Booked Following Charges in Alleged Payroll Scam
The four St. Louis city police officers charged on Thursday have now all been booked.
The officers are accused of larding their paychecks by inventing overtime hours.
Officers Brian Jost and Emin Talic posted $5,000 bonds and were released Friday. Officers Michael Langsdorf and Daniel O'Brien also bonded out after posting $3,000 bonds. They're charged with felony counts of forgery. All but O'Brien were also charged with felony-level stealing. He was charged with a misdemeanor count of stealing, less than $750.
At least three of the officers Jost, Talic and Langsdorf were assigned to a special federal task force that works drug cases throughout the St. Louis metro area. During a recent hearing in federal court on an unrelated task force case, the three were described as task force officers with the Drug Enforcement Administration-led team.
