my conservative relatives complaining about food drives and school supply drives. My sibling once said to me that kids who grow up getting “free stuff” grow up to be adults who expect “free stuff.” It is just mind boggling.

I was in all white schools in an all white town (yes, the town is racist AF. So much so that the klan marched thru town cuz President Clinton had the audacity to try to integrate the public housing in the town.) Every one of those schools had free lunch programs. It ain't no race thing. It has to do with income. Tell your friend to educate herself.
