KC Metro 'now reached uncontrolled community spread of COVID'

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) – Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ Chief of Staff said the city has, “now reached uncontrolled community spread of COVID-19 in the KC Metro. [ICU] Bed Capacity is nearly gone.”

The Mid-America Regional Council is reporting COVID-19 data from the KC Metro which includes the counties of Platte, Leavenworth, Wyandotte, Johnson, Miami, Clay, Jackson, Cass and Ray.

The seven-day rolling average of new cases has more than doubled in just a few weeks.

On Tuesday night, it's nearing 900. That's by far the highest it's been since the pandemic started.

We're stocked up on groceries and have everything we need. Husband working from home. Yet some folks around here are still grousing because they can't go see their son or daughter play sports, their having to attend virtual church services, or God forbid, they have to wear masks in businesses. Entire classrooms are quarantined and school districts are seriously considering closing schools again.

I knew this was going to happen -- but nobody around me would listen. I told them Fall and Winter was going to be B-A-D. I watched these fools go to restaurants or to the lake or at family gatherings - mask free. It wasn't going to happen to "them." Well guess what, mofos --- IT IS.

Sorry, this just pisses me off. All for a little want of care, for yourself and your fellow man, we could beat this. But NO ... your rights. Your rights are killing people you assholes.

I'm going to stop now. I'm so mad I am shaking.

You have a grasp of what's going on, but you're surrounded by A-Holes who are oblivious, and don't care about keeping others safe.

Take the precautions you must, and avoid contact with all the Deplorables out and about spreading the virus with abandon.

We have been staying close to home for a while now. Many of the great people who worked our elections are down with the virus and we have a couple of friends in quarantine, The city tried to implement the same precautions as KC but we have way too many people who will not cooperate. The area needs to shut down but with Republicans running the state, it will never happen. I just hope our health care workers can hold up until January.
