What is happening in Montana?

Steve Daines and Ryan Zinke just dropped out within a few days of each other. Is something happening in Montana that I haven't heard about?

Basically, they let another republican to do the filing 1 minute before the deadline, then Daines dropped out and endorsed the new guy, along with the oragne one endorsement. They basically didn't give Democrats or anyone time to prepare for an adaquate run for the seat.

There is an independent who filed to run for the seat but there is no real democrat in the race.
