An Omaha man was booked into jail Thursday after a dog was found abandoned in his apartment last year with serious injuries, including second-degree burns.
Gabriel Moore, 35, faces one count of intentional cruelty to an animal, a felony, and one count of indecency with an animal, a misdemeanor. He is accused of intentionally burning and sexually assaulting the dog. Moore will appear in court for a bail hearing next week.

The arrest came just hours after the Douglas County Sheriff's Office asked for assistance in locating Moore on social media. A warrant was issued for Moore's arrest last November.
According to an arrest affidavit for Moore, the dog was reported to the Nebraska Humane Society as abandoned at a downtown Omaha apartment complex on Aug. 9, 2023. Moore had been incarcerated earlier that month on allegations of misdemeanor sexual assault.
