LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The city of Lincoln is proposing a new stormwater bond which could be on the Nov. General Election Ballot.

The Lincoln City Council held a first reading on Monday to consider the $13.9 million bond issue.

The bond would run for 20 years and cost about 80 cents per month to the average home valued at about $280,000

If approved by the council and voters, funds would be divided up into $5.3 million for urban storm drainage projects in all four quadrants of the city, $3.6 million for flood reduction, $3.6 million for stream stabilization, $1 million for water quality and $400,000 for urban drainage studies.
