Nebraska lawmakers select bills to prioritize for rest of session, including gun, voter ID measures

Workplace discrimination. Convention of the states. Lethal injection supplier secrecy. Voter ID. Medical marijuana.

Those are among the hot-button topics picked by members of the Nebraska Legislature as top priorities.

The deadline for naming priority bills was Thursday, about halfway through the 90-day legislative session.

From now on, priority bills will dominate lawmakers’ agenda. Priority bills, if advanced from committee, are virtually guaranteed debate on the floor.
