Democrat challenging Sen. Deb Fischer releases TV ad
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) The Democratic candidate challenging Nebraska U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer has released a television ad accusing the Republican incumbent of not looking out for the interests of Nebraska farmers being hurt by President Donald Trump's trade dispute with China and other countries.
The televised ad by Democrat Jane Raybould is the first in the 2018 general election race. It was revealed Thursday at a news conference in Lincoln.
Raybould said the campaign ad is "shining a spotlight on Sen. Fischer's failure to not only stand up for Nebraska's agricultural economy, but her gross malpractice in working against our state's interests."
The Fischer campaign dismissed the ad's criticism of the senator's record on agriculture, saying "her 40-year record of accomplishments and bipartisan support from across Nebraska's ag community are simply unmatched."
