Democrats widen voter registration advantage for 4th straight month

Republicans are losing ground on voter registrations from month to month after seeing some gains at the start of the year.

Democrats have widened their voter registration advantage for the fourth month in a row, according to July numbers released today by the Secretary of State’s Office. Statewide, voter registrations rose nearly .4 percent.

There were more than 66,000 more Democrats than Republicans in the state in July, a margin that widened from over 65,600 in June, over 62,000 in May and over 61,000 in April.

Republicans had been chipping away at the gap earlier this year, reducing the Democratic edge from over 75,000 in January to over 73,000 in February, to over 59,000 in March.
