Tim Kaine tells N.H. voters they have a clear choice

NASHUA, N.H. — On his second campaign trip to the Granite State in just over a month, Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine said voters have a clear choice in November between his running mate Hillary Clinton’s goal of creating an economy that works for everyone, or Donald Trump’s dystopian, divisive strategy.

“The other side is doom and gloom ... We are can-do, optimistic, patriotic,” the Virginia senator told a crowd of about 200 people at the Democratic Committee headquarters here, one of a handful of stops he made in the state. “There’s existential values at stake in this race ... It’s basically a ‘you’re-hired’ president or a ‘you’re-fired’ president.”

Kaine, whose son is a Marine, pointed out that Trump has said the U.S. military is a disaster and would “tear up” alliances such as NATO.

“Donald Trump is a one-way path to making us weaker as a nation,” Kaine said, “not stronger.”
