WINDHAM President Donald Trump's former campaign manager and well-known political commentator Corey Lewandowski has filed a $5 million lawsuit against his neighbors over access to a waterfront property he owns near Rock Pond.
According to court documents, Lewandowski lives at 21 Emerson Road and owns the abutting property and a 700 square foot cottage at 15 Emerson Road. He is in the process of constructing a 2,152 square foot garage there.
The 15 Emerson Road property, which is currently unoccupied, is landlocked, and does not have direct access to Emerson Road.
A 2015 easement approved by Windham officials allows drivers and pedestrians to access the parcel through 11 Emerson Road, which is owned by Glenn and Irene Schwartz.

(22,883 posts)Property disputes are pretty common. For example, my fiancee owns a rental property in the Outer Banks and the neighbors erected a fence that partitions part of her back yard. Although they seem like nice enough people, they are disputing the property plats that clearly show they violated our space. The neighbors will probably lose but it's still going to cost us thousands of dollars in legal fees. That's the cost of doing business. Sometimes it costs money to protect your rights.
In the case of Lewandowski, as long as he does not try to use his access to Trump as a lever in his dispute, this isn't business that I particularly care about. In the second half of the linked article, it appears that the neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Schwartz, have violated the easement approved by the local zoning board. On the surface, they appear to be the "bad guys" in this story. However, if it distracts Lewndowski, even a little bit, and costs him some money, it will be to our benefit.
Of course, he's still a jackass.
