(21,078 posts)in Stuart, works at Pipers Landing. The weather will warm up soon, we go through this every year. My favorite thing when I moved here was going to Publix. I am still in awe of their stores. Stay in touch please...
I lived in Neptune City and Bradley Beach the last 30 years. Moved down here for a) lower cost of living, b) wife hates Jersey winters, and c) have in-laws here.
Just got back from Publix a couple of hours ago. I will be checking both the Florida and NJ groups so I'm sure we'll keep in touch.

(8,212 posts)I rented in Bradley Beach ca. 1980-1995. Then I bought a house in Neptune City (about a block from Stop 'n Shop/Foodtown). Sold the Neptune City house at the end of December and moved down to Florida.
When I moved into Bradley, some of the locals called it "bagel beach"- presumably because it had two synagogues. Nice town. Great beach and boardwalk- you could walk to Ocean Grove and Asbury or Avon and Belmar. And it always had enough good restaurants for a town ten times its size...

(29,100 posts)I haven't lived there for 40 years but I can drop into a Jersey accent on a dime when I'm talking to family there and I do admit to having a bit too much interest in my hair.
I'm Thankful I'm not there right now...Christie would have driven me insane by now....and I'd probably have no family left. Quite a few like him because his persona is familiar to them...He's just like the idiot from down the block. Needless to say we don't discuss politics much.

(21,078 posts)continue with an entertainment career..Ha, I grew up in south Jersey and it's a tough accent (clam digger) to rid yourself of. Christie would drive me nuts too and I do have very conservative family in Freehold. One of the sons is in Brick and I have turned him...LOL. I worked at the Turnpike Authority for a long time with Hudson County folks. I do understand what you're saying. Good to meet you.
