School administrator who stole $75k gives up job certificate
I've taught at all three schools. I was given the heads up that my paycheck would be delayed . . . . . .
PATERSON -- An administrator for a charter school who admitted to stealing more than $75,000 from the school relinquished her certificate for school employment to the state.
Kathleen E. Patacsil, 53, pleaded guilty to theft by deception on May 22, 2017 and was sentenced to drug court.
She held a School Business Administrator Certificate, issued in July 2010, which she agreed to give up. That state Department of Education's Board of Examiners voted Sept. 15 to accept her relinquishment.
Patacsil, former chief operating officer and board secretary at the Community Charter School of Paterson, was charged in April 2016 with theft by deception. Authorities say she diverted more than $75,000 in school money to herself between 2014 and 2015 while overseeing the school's payroll.
