Do you really not understand why the various MJ legalization state laws don't let you grow it?

The bills are written and lobbied by large MJ financial interests to protect their turf.

States are principally looking for a tax windfall. Because growing MJ is a hell of a lot easier than brewing beer or making wine, a lot more people would simply do that and not pay the tax.

It took a federal law to legalizing making your own wine and beer, and no you are not allowed to "distill" any spirits. Don't know where you got that last part. You can only brew and ferment. If you distill, you are going to jail.

The taxes on legal weed are really, really high. The city, state, etc all get their cut. It is cheaper to buy it illegally. If you want oil, vapes or other varieties besides flowers/buds you pay the price.

This forum is for "New Jersey". So, in the context of a post discussing marijuana law - which is different in various states - the assumed context in the New Jersey forum is that we are talking about New Jersey.

Now, New Jersey is also known as "The Garden State". But if you have marijuana in your garden in New Jersey, you are going to the pokey.

The only thing different here is that if you are attending an event, you can only carry government stamped MJ into the event, not baggies or anything.

My grandmother's friend (also my cousin's grandfather) had a still during the depression. Once a month, a Cadillac would pull up in front of the house. "Grandpa" would get in and come back several hours later with a wad of cash.

Nowhere can you distill spirits for drinking purposes legally, absent a license.
