Emhoff returns for fundraiser; Baraka to host Harris rally with Queen Latifah

A pair of events in the Garden State over the next week are looking to consolidate fundraising and support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the final push to Election Day.

On Saturday afternoon, Queen Latifah will join Newark Mayor Ras Baraka at Essex County College for a rally in Newark. Senate candidate and Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown), newly elected Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-Newark), Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing), and New Jersey Senate Majority Leader Teresa Ruiz will also speak at the rally.

“This election represents a turning point for our country, and the time to act is now,” Baraka said in a release. “Queen Latifah and I are here to remind our community what’s at stake, and to rally together to fight for justice, equity, and leadership that will uplift all of us.”

New Jersey Democratic Chair LeRoy Jones will also speak at the rally.

Baraka’s gubernatorial campaign is distributing the free tickets.
