a two volume (and growing) collection of news items detailing the depravity, arrogance, incompetence, corruption, self-promotion, and generally bad behavior of our favorite governor and his merry band of cronies. You'll laugh, you'll cry, if you follow just one corrupt politician this year, make it Chris Christie! A guy so big, so corrupt, just one volume wasn't enough. I give it two thumbs up! He makes me so proud to live in the Garden State.

(733 posts)I've been looking for any indication of the motive for closing the lanes. Can you direct me to articles that speculate about this. Is anyone looking at who benefited or was hurt from the closures? The closures were overkill as payback to the Ft. Lee mayor or revenge of a scorned woman, Bridget Kelly.

Check out this great piece by Ryan Lizza: (Volume 1, item # 70) Crossing Christie
This was either political payback for Mayor Sokolich not endorsing Christie, an attempt to influence the Fort Lee real estate deal, or most likely a combination of both.
The scorned woman theory is ridiculous and not even worthy of discussion. If you believe that one then I have a bridge to sell....on second thought, that's probably not the right analogy. There are no rogue actors in the Christie administration and the thought that Bridget Kelly did this on her own, much less some insane theory that she was acting out because Bill Stepien broke up with her, is insultingly stupid (not to mention oddly sexist). That's why Baroni lied to the to the committee among other events? Really? Occam's Razor. The answers with the least assumptions and that make the most sense are generally the correct ones.
Oh,and always remember Quod Est En Loco, that's Latin for "the fix is in", whenever you see Christie and Wolff & Sampson together, something is likely going on.
