Atlantic City ready to take, resell abandoned properties

ATLANTIC CITY — Beth and Kurt Kwart, of Ventnor, are interested in developing abandoned properties in the city.

They said it’s a good time to invest because prices are cheap.

“We live right here, and we see a lot of potential in Atlantic City,” Beth Kwart said, noting they already own five properties in the city. “There’s a lot of good things that will drive people here.”

Abandoned properties represent a persistent problem in Atlantic City, where they can become drug havens, eyesores and fire hazards, city officials said.
