Just heard two things on local NYC ABC channel -

A FDNY ambulance was stuck in the snow in Chelsea - passersby got it out - it took 45 minutes of effort.

Chelsea Whole Foods - This afternoon people were fighting to get inside and arguing with security guards.

they're definitely not clear. Visibility has worsened - now it's only about 1/2 a block.

"Not gonna do it. Wouldn't be prudent."

Amazing how tech is painting us inexorably into a corner.

"Hand over your data.... or no snow plow for YOU!"

They'll get here when they get here, I guess.

(P.S. They plowed my street every snowstorm last year ....we had about , what? six?...... more or less after the first three inches. Never once needed to access any personal data from me to do it. )

necessary. I just tried it.

You could give them an address in your general area and get the same information. It shows a good chunk of
the neighborhood, not just your block.

I'm still pissed about the surveillance state m.o., though.

I have to walk the dog again in about an hour.

I'll make a decision about calling then.... if it's still unplowed. Looks right now as though it is. (Unplowed, that is.)

I just love it, in case you couldn't tell. LULZ

I don't like the surveillance state either but sometimes I cave after a period of resistance.

I was suspicious of those store loyalty cards too but then.... I like saving money. Some revolutionary I am.

I didn't use the link.

It started snowing last nite around the same time. So basically it took them 24 hrs.

There's a LOT of snow out there. Got to be about 2 feet. But it appears to be done.

I'm currently re-watching Citizen Four. (Snowden, Greenwald, Poitras, et al.) So my sensitivity to and awareness of gov't spying and data sweeping is presently at an all time high.

Looks like it will get above freezing tomorrow and the sun should melt at least some of this away.
