Commuters streaming through Penn Station finally have reason to smile. Not because of Gov. Cuomo’s plan to renovate — years away — but due to the arrival of a sprawling 8,000-square-foot food market, the Pennsy (at the corner of 33rd Street and Seventh Avenue), where sharply dressed hosts greet patrons, steering them to five upscale, but casual, chef-driven options.

Visitors lounging in the living room-like setting may see Pennsy purveyor Pat LaFrieda.

“We love the fact that we’re changing the food in the area,” says the celeb butcher, referring to the gritty nabe, with its past gourmet selections like Roy Rogers and Sbarro.
