Flanagan slams Cuomo’s backing of Democratic takeover of Senate
Senate Republican Majority Leader John Flanagan punched back on Wednesday as Gov. Andrew Cuomo backs Senate Democrats efforts to retake the majority.
In a statement released Wednesday afternoon, Flanagan tied the Democrats to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (the GOPs favorite boogeyman) and called it unfathomable that Cuomo would want to place de Blasio in charge of setting the states agenda by electing Senate Democrats.
The Senate Democrat candidates have records of being investigated for corruption, hypocrisy and lying to the public, and of imposing massive tax hikes on hardworking New Yorkers, Flanagan said. It is disturbing that the Governor believes that the radical and extreme agenda backed by the Senate Democrats is the right one for the people of this state.
While the Cuomo camp did not immediately fire back, the Senate Democrats did, with communications director Mike Murphy saying that Donald Trumps New York cheerleaders are now adopting his tactics of lying to scare and divide people leading up to Election Day.
