Indicted Maziarz no longer a lobbyist, but still representing Senate GOP on a board

Here's an expanded version of the second item from my "Albany Insider" column from Monday's print editions:

A former state senator recently hit with state felony charges lost his lobbying job, but is still representing his former chamber on an obscure state board.

George Maziarz, a Niagara Falls-area Republican, was dismissed from Patricia Lynch & Associates after his arrest on charges he improperly funneled campaign money to a former Senate staffer who had left after being hit with sexual harassment charges.

"He's no longer with the firm," Lynch said of Maziarz. "I called him the next morning (after his arrest)."
