Devastating fire to Village of Tivoli Volunteer Fire Dept in Dutchess County

Last edited Sat Jul 6, 2019, 05:48 PM - Edit history (1)

"Early arriving members were able to run in and save the other engine as well as our UTV (utility task vehicle) and boat," the Facebook post stated. "Before mutual-aid departments could arrive, they were able to start attacking the fire with that engine they had saved."

Other fire departments that fought the blaze included Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Clermont and Germantown.

"We are truly fortunate to have amazing volunteers who all came to assist," Molinaro, a former mayor of Tivoli, said on Facebook.

The fire department said in its post that "while we are heartbroken about this tragedy, we will continue serve the citizens of this community and start the process of replacement and rebuilding."
