A former aide to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo who is now running for Manhattan borough president accused him of sexual harassment in a series of tweets Sunday, saying he made inappropriate comments about her appearance.
Lindsey Boylan tweeted that the Democratic governor "sexually harassed me for years. Many saw it, and watched."
"I could never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks. Or would it be both in the same conversation? This was the way for years," she continued.
Asked for comment, Cuomo's press secretary Caitlin Girouard said, "There is simply no truth to these claims."

(28,392 posts)Gov. Cuomo doesn't seem to be that kind of person, but I will keep an open mind. Extraordinary claims requires extraordinary evidence.

(12,749 posts)I am a feminist and a long time women's activist. That being said, I question the timing of this revelation, with a large scale Cyber attack on the Government by Russian intel,(after the firing of Krebs) and Gov Cuomo under consideration for AG in the Biden Administration
Color me suspicious.

(1,884 posts)Lets see. A few days ago there was a published report that Gov Cuomo was on Joes list for Attorney General and now this surfaces. Could be true, but this reminds me of that womans report saying Joe had accosted her on capitol hill, which turned out she was kind of all over the place with her behavior.

(48,801 posts)2. The accusation wasn't made under oath in a legal complaint.
3. The accusation is not specific as to what "harassed about my looks" means.
4. We've seen this movie before, i.e., Al Franken.
If Lindsey Boylan wants justice, I'm sure she can find a plethora of NY lawyers ready to assist her. Otherwise, I'm withholding judgment.

Gov Cuomo is known. She is not.
When you're not beneath such dirty deeds to get name recognition, then you've already shown who you really are.

We'll see where she lands.
I'm surprised she didn't think of this angle when she challenged Rep Jerryy Nadler ..
I see she addressed the Dem Party as "Establishment".
wait for it.... think I'll dash over to see if Sirota & Bri & Sarandon have dusted off their "Tara Reade manual of sabatoging Democratic leaders."

Personnel memos written in 2018, obtained by The Associated Press, indicate that Boylan resigned after she was confronted about complaints about her own office behavior.
Several women complained to Empire State Development's human resources department that "Ms. Boylan had behaved in a way towards them that was harassing, belittling, and had yelled and been generally unprofessional," wrote the administration's ethics officer, Julia Pinover Kupiec in one memo.
Boylan resigned after meeting with officials including Cuomo's top lawyer, Alphonso David, to be "counseled" about the complaints.
David said in a follow-up memo that Boylan had contacted him several days later and said she had reconsidered her resignation and wished to return to work, but he discouraged her from doing so.
