Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) plans to object to the certification of last years presidential election on Wednesday when Congress meets to make those results official.
The upstate Republican announced the move Monday morning on her Congressional website, saying she will object to certain contested electors on January 6th.
Stefanik will join dozens of other Republicans in Congress who plan to call into question the Electoral College vote when they convene Wednesday to formally ratify it, but their efforts most likely will be in vain.
President-elect Joe Biden won the election both through the popular and electoral vote, but it hasnt stopped President Trump and his GOP allies from making unfounded claims that the election was rigged in Bidens favor.

(24,140 posts)electoral votes in some manner, just for making a political impact, and just for making trumpie drumpie happy. This is interfering w/ long established tradition of smoothly transitioning power to the next administration. There will be, if heads don't roll and people aren't charged, that the over (probably by now) 80 million plus Biden voters will be massively angry. All we're hearing nonstop is the thugs plotting all sorts of nefarious methods to disturb/disrupt the smooth and orderly transition of power (rightfully done too).
I'm getting angry. I'm sure that a lot of us are getting angry, and I suspect that the silent majority, which hasn't been interviewed or such very much on national TV, nor has Biden / Kamala said very much as to trump's constant attempts to throw valid election results out (fraud, fraud, fraud). The anger is getting there, folks.
