City employees found to have participated in last weeks attack on the Capitol will be terminated immediately, Mayor Bill de Blasio said Monday.
If we have proof that someone violently attacked our United States government, they will not be working for New York City any longer, de Blasio told reporters.
On Jan. 6, a mob of pro-Trump rioters stormed the Capitol building in an attempt to overturn the results of the presidential election as congress members gathered to count electoral college votes confirming President-elect Joe Biden.
The attack came after weeks of encouragement from President Trump for his supporters to try and undermine the election and shortly after he told a crowd gathered at The Ellipse we will never give up, we will never concede
you will never take back our country with weakness.

I respect that investigations take time, yet with the amount of evidence collected thus far its time that people stop talking about the various degrees of punishment for the insurrectionists and do their job to the fullest.
A great example is Giuliani. If anyone else, democrat, republican, independent or otherwise said what he said before the riot they would have been rounded up and charged. Yet, Giuliani is being considered as a defense attorney for Trump if there is an impeachment trial?
As weve seen over and over those who have been apprehended cry like the pathetic losers they are, yet we have known elected officials, nut jobs like Giuliani still free as birds.
We need to make examples out of these privileged high profile criminals
I would guarantee that if the FBI raided Giuliani like the woman in Florida who was going up against their governor about Covid statistics, cuffed him and locked him up and allowed the media to show the raid as much as weve seen the same clips of what happened at the Capitol, if nothing else it would be a statement that law enforcement is coming for the rest of the scum, its just a matter of time.

do. If they have evidence that they were involved as part of the insurrection, then they should remove them

Im really tired of people quoting the constitution who have never read it. They hear from another wing nut that their rights are being violated under the first, the second amendment, etc. So, that becomes their justification for breaking the law. Others choose to put their one spin on the constitution, like not wearing a mask is somehow a violation of their rights.
Its the same method that the evangelical pseudo Christians use to interpret the Bible. Whatever justifies their behavior makes doing what they want okay.
We are coming up on a week since the insurrection, and how many of the Franklin Graham types have said a single word of condemnation against Trump?
We are coming up on a week where an angry mob wanted to hang the Vice President of the United States. Yet, the likes of Cruz, Hawley, Brooks and Giuliani are somewhere laughing their asses off and planning their next move.
In Trumpanzy-speak, justice is only justice when it turns a blind eye and lets them do whatever they want.

(45,704 posts)Demand voluntary resignations now. And fire those who remain. Terrorists and traitors have no place in public service.
