A Look At Andrew Yang's Record Of Entrepreneurship Shows Ups And Downs

Before he ran for president or mayor, Andrew Yang made his name in start-ups, and he established a reputation for innovation.

A NY1 analysis of his business record finds mixed results: massive setback and massive success.

He fumbled his first post-law school venture, Stargiving, which helped celebrities raise money for good causes.

“It was around 2000, had this mini rise and maximum fall,” he recalled in a TEDxGeorgetown talk in Nov. 2012.

He rebounded at test prep company Manhattan GMAT, where he was a tutor, then chief executive. He sold it in 2009 to Kaplan.
