A salty beef is sizzling among the heirs to the Boars Head fortune, no matter how you slice it.
The death of Barbara Brunckhorst daughter of Boars Head founder Frank Brunckhorst has sparked a court fight among the two families who control the secretive deli meats company estimated to earn around $1 billion annually.
On one side of the dispute is Frank Brunckhorst III, the grandson of the Boars Heads founder and Barbaras nephew.
On the other side is Eric Bischoff, grandson of Bruno Bischoff, who was Frank Brunckhorsts brother-in-law.

(31,436 posts)written some years ago in a local paper that I wish I could find. It was about a local animal hoarding case. Fortunately, all the animals were healthy and well cared for. The neighbors, the cops and animal control intervened before things got any worse.
The homeowners had the had the usual array of dogs, cats, birds and snakes. But they had farm animals in the basement. I believe these were a cow and a hog. Getting them out of the basement proved to be quite a challenge.
A crowd grew outside the home. People began to sing the theme song from Green Acres. The cops could barely keep a straight face.
A local reporter, a very young woman, wrote a clever article about the whole story. The reporter has since moved on to bigger and better journalistic opportunities. At the time, I contacted her and commended her on the article. I contacted the editor as well. My daughter did the same.
I must ask around and see if anyone else remembers her article.
For some reason, your story brought back that memory. Maybe the only connection was the beef and the wordplay. But it was a pleasant thing to recall, nevertheless.
p.s. I don't condone animal hoarding. I am glad they found new homes for all those creatures.
