(222,219 posts)Not to mention sweltering weather. We also get flood warnings, but so far my county (Warren) has been spared. And then today we had dangerous wind warnings. At least we haven't experienced the horrific flooding in nearby Vermont. "It's always something..." Stay safe!

(19,187 posts)We're fine other than a pounding by nasty thunderstorms yesterday evening and no power for most of the night. No complaints from me given what our compadres east of the Greens and in Montpelier have been dealing with since Monday. The Otter is way out of its banks so some of our friends on that side of the valley are on pins and needles with more rain coming. Weird weather this Summer.

(222,219 posts)But that's only because this is a newer area with cables underground. I keep going back to Hurricane Irene when this area was devastated - and many lost power for days. And I went to Vermont shortly afterwards and the roads were washed out and cabins on Lake Champlain were completely washed away. And now they're saying that this is worse for Vermont than Irene, especially Montpelier, where they've declared a state of emergency. It's not over yet, but we were lucky here this time.
