Hello New York Group

I just wanted to get some advice from the group. I am bringing my 14 year old granddaughter to Manhattan in July to show her the wonderful city. I am pretty familiar with NYC having been many times. But what I don't know is the best things to show a 14 year old girl. Any pointers you might have for a person of her age would be great. Maybe you have daughters or granddaughters who know the City.

She loves vegetarian food and vintage clothing shops. Any hidden treasures about the City you know would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to all.

Bohdai in Mayberry Street is great vegan chineese. A slightly more posh vegan spot is Blossum in the Upper West Side. Mamouns Flaffel has at least 3 locations in Manhattan, mixed but flaffel is vegan.

Other things just for the experience:

—Ellis Island
—Top of the Empire State Building
—Metropolitan Museum of Art (maybe the Temple of Dendur and check whether the Met has any clothing shows coming up, e.g.,

—Museum of Natural History
—for history, explore the UN and see what might be interesting there
—people watching having lunch at an outdoor cafe, there are several on Broadway around the Lincoln Center area
—perhaps a Broadway show
—a boat ride around Manhattan
—a shopping expedition in Bloomingdale’s Juniors Department

Greenwich Village usually has some funky shops that are fun to explore. Just stay away from the porn shops!

Its open late fri & sat evenings. The Rooftop accesable from a first floor elevator in Southern end of Museum. The views of Central Park and some of the Shyline are great.
The Kips Bay East side neighborhood east side just south of 34th st has some great photo sightlines of several classic skyscrapers. In central park just east of the met is Bellevedre Castle has fun views too.
Enter the daily lotteries for Shakespeare in the park (free) very creative high quality productions, and the morning lottery for discount broadway tickets ($25 per seat). Search for free concerts ans events too. And for vintage dont rule out salvation army and goodwill. Due to the prosperity there are excellent castoffs.

Hi, the theatre in central park is closed for renovations. The plays will float around various city parks. https://www.centralpark.com/things-to-do/activities/shakespeare-in-the-park/
