(6,338 posts)The Triangle would be the only part of the state where I would think I might see something like this. There was a time when Charlotte would have been another place, but that changed once the stadium and the banks took over the city.

(29,763 posts)and somehow I ended up in a red island I guess. I recall registering voters in 2008 and 3 out of 5 were republicans. Now I live in Durham, very reliably blue, very diverse, if I can't be in CA I'm glad I'm in Durham!

(6,338 posts)I lived there from 1981 till 1990. One side of the family is from just south of there. I miss living there.
But, I suppose it was a different time...
