Mixed drink referendum to be on ballot in Maysville in election

MAYSVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A small Eastern North Carolina town is voting on more than just candidates this election.

They’re also voting on a referendum that could start the sale of mixed drinks. The citizens of Maysville will have a choice to consider come November’s election.

A referendum on mixed drinks will be on the ballot. If it passes, hotels, restaurants, private clubs, festivals and more could sell alcoholic drinks.

Maysville Town Manager Schumata Brown said the ability to serve mixed drinks would have a positive impact in the area economically.
