Related: About this forumLast night I saw a truly disgusting ad agains Kay Hagan.....just unbelievable!!
Americans for Prosperity has already spent $7 million on ads against Kay Hagan. I wonder how many people who saw that ad will say, "We have to get rid of her"? What has this country come to that these nasty ads are the norm?

(22,666 posts)Just got this from Hagan this morning:
A group whose purpose seems to be privatizing Social Security has launched a more than $200,000 attack against me in North Carolina.
Theyre called the 60+ Association, and theyve got ties to -- wait for it -- the billionaire Koch brothers.
I would not allow Social Security to be privatized. You know that. But the 60+ Association (and the Koch brothers) know that, too -- which is why theyve launched this new attack that has been called false in fact checks.
And that's why we need to redouble our efforts to fight back. We need $120,000 in April to stay on target. Contribute $5 or more to help.
Outside interests have spent more than $10 million in North Carolina, attacking me and propping up my opponents.
Privatizing Social Security is one big piece of the out-of-touch Koch agenda. And this new ad is just the latest in a long string of attacks against me.
I rely on your support to fight back. We did a fantastic job in March. Lets make April even bigger.
Give $5, or whatever makes sense for you, toward our $120,000 April goal.
Thank you.

(22,666 posts)Though I know many can't afford even that much these days (and the Kochs and their friends have conspired to ensure this). I can't afford but $5 or $10 here or there but send what I can when I can.
Not that we can compete with the Koch bastards, ALEC et al, but every dollar helps.

(45,790 posts)false. I don't mean subjectively false, or misleading, or full of omissions. It was completely opposite the truth! The only thing true in it was the fact that NC has a senator named Kay Hagan.
