McCrory wants to borrow $1 billion for rural NC transportation projects

Snip...

Gov. Pat McCrory said Wednesday he wants the state to borrow more than $1 billion to “kick-start” a raft of mostly rural transportation projects.

“Our small towns are still struggling,” McCrory told an audience in Greenville. “And our major emphasis in economic development is going to be put toward our towns, you know, from 10 to 50 thousand people.”

My favorite comment, in this article, by our imbecile governor:

“If you go to Elizabeth City right now, which has a fairly high unemployment rate, we think the best opportunity for that region is to connect with Virginia and that economic center,” McCrory said.

Unfrickingbelieveable! Hypocrites, liars and thieves all rolled up into one big fat cluster(&*^ of an Administration.

The fools voted for this rotted government and now we'll have to suffer for their ridiculous choices.

Maybe finish freakin' 540?! Urban areas are keeping this state afloat and we're being hosed by rural politicians. UFB. I'm trying not to perpetuate the rural v. urban divide, but it is what it is.

Elizabeth City to Norfolk is 47 miles along Route 17. How many miles will a new super-duper highway shave off? And God forbid convincing businesses to move to NE NC. Wait! I thought the Republicans' corporate tax cuts were to do just that!

Yes, the comments are good. I'm happy to see so many paying attention. And I imagine they vote.
