NC 'flat tax'. What has it done to you?

I used to get a small (couple hundred) refund. Now I have to pay a couple hundred, instead.

Flat tax is bullshit.

Now, I'm paying more taxes so the rich and Duke Energy and other big corps don't have to.

Isn't that NICE.

because i usually get a refund but i'm afraid i'll have to pay this year. NC is the only state i ever had to pay. the taxes are enormous in this state, at least for the working class.

Same here. Had to pay a piddly amount 10 or so years back. Now, a couple hundred (?!). Every year in between, I had some refund.

Meanwhile, our rich residents get huge cuts. And GSK. And Duke Energy. We get to pay what they don't.

the only time i've had to pay in my LIFE was here in NC. Now that my son is graduating, I'm going to start having extra money taken out of my check, because it hurts too much otherwise.

Last year we got an almost $1100. refund, so I did not send any quarterly payments for 2014.

Our federal adjusted gross income was $3,000 LESS this year than last year.

Both my husband and I are collecting social security.

Taxing the sh*t out of regular working and retired people just so Art Pope and Duke Energy can get huge cuts.

I always knew this libertarian / Republican 'flat tax' crap was a rotten idea and grossly unfair. Now I have PROOF.
