Me, I call that an act of war, but nobody else does so until others do, the best we can do now is pay attention...
follow my twitter acct and tweet voting irregularities or voter obstruction and we pass it along to DOJ
unless a repub steals the WH at which time the DOJ will be useless

DOJ under Obama has done next to nothing in real terms on voting rights among other civil rights issues. State after state has enacted regressive restrictions and warped voting districts. I recall when the DOJ actually investigated and applied the law and it was a very different time indeed.
The executive branch has broad powers and abilities which have barely been tapped.
I prefer to think it is a lack of vision but it may also be Neo-Liberal theology influencing policy. If you have a view that dictates there will always be losers and they do not deserve your best energies it makes sense to protect to your preferred allies instead. When was the last time you saw a senior bank official or securities analyst under investigation?

I think so.

My contention is that Neo-Liberal strategies involve using issues like this as scare tactics to leverage money raising. They have decided on their voting demographic and have tailored their political agendas and money raising schemes accordingly. They are unlikely to use political capitol on issues they believe are "lost" according to Neo-Liberal theology. The same thinking applies to protecting voters and their rights of access. To say the least it is a short-sighted strategy, not to mention cruel and Un-American in the most basic terms.
