A timeline of confederate monuments in NC

UNC has a nice interactive website showing the monuments erected in NC by year: you can play with it here

I went through it, to understand the history of confederate monuments in NC and came up with the following approximate totals by decade after the civil war:

1866-1875: 5
1876-1885: 4
1886-1895: 7
1896-1905:12
1906-1915:29
1916-1925:15
1926-1935:11
1936-1945: 2
1946-1955:
1956-1965: 6
1966-1975: 1
1976-1985: 2
1986-1995: 3
1996-2005: 4

It is surprising how recently some have been erected: apparently it was somehow not enough to have this

in front of the current Gaston county courthouse, so in 2003 this got erected in front of the old courthouse in Dallas

Some NC monuments are simply astounding: this was erected in Mebane in 1922
