CMPD officer parks in handicapped spot

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
An investigation is underway after someone recorded video of a CMPD officer parked in a handicapped spot in Charlotte Thursday morning.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, an Instagram user sent the department a video of the patrol car parked in the spot.

Police say they immediately identified the officer assigned the vehicle to ensure it was no longer parked there. The officer’s supervisor is investigating the incident.

CMPD says that it is never ok for a police officer to park in a handicapped parking space. The officer’s name has not been released.
