Amazon signs lease for second Triad facility

Amazon has signed a lease for a second Triad facility, this time for space in Piedmont Corporate Park in Guilford County.

A Samet Corp. affiliate, LARS RE LLC, is leasing Lot 2E to Amazon.com Services Inc., according to a Guilford Register of Deeds filing Tuesday. LARS was formed Feb. 13, according to the N.C. Secretary of State’s website.

The property address is listed at 7941 National Service Road, on the southern right-of-way of the road and the western right-of-way of Piedmont Triad Parkway. The lot appears to contain 16.64 acres, according to the lease. The property has a Colfax address, but is in the High Point city limits.

Loren Hill, a spokesman for the High Point Economic Development Corp., declined to comment on the facility, saying, “none of our office’s current confidential clients have authorized us to discuss any project publicly.”
