Cuyahoga County Board of Elections reveals new ward, precinct boundaries for Cleveland in time for 2025 elections
CLEVELAND — The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (BOE) has announced that it has completed the process of creating ward and precinct boundaries for Cleveland in time for this year's elections.
Because of a drop in population in the 2020 census, the number of wards in Cleveland has been reduced from 17 to 15. Cleveland City Council officially approved a new representative ward map in January. While the boundaries for Cleveland's 17 wards remain active until January 2026 for city administrative and public services, the 15 approved wards will be utilized for all of the city's elections, starting with May's Primary Election.
So how will you know where to go to vote?
The BOE says each of the over 251,000 registered voters in Cleveland are being mailed a Voter Information Guide for the May 6, 2025 Primary Election that will include their new ward, precinct, voting location and election information. City voters will also receive a separate letter informing them of their voting location and precinct assignment in mid-April.
