Oklahoma mother and daughter charged with Medicaid fraud

A mother and daughter have been charged with Medicaid fraud and identity theft after authorities say they submitted false claims.

Lexie Batchelor, 59, of Atoka, and Heather Doss, 43, of Tulsa, are accused of submitting false claims to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority from 2010 through 2016, according to a news release.

Batchelor and Doss reportedly submitted claims for services in Oklahoma while airline records showed both were both out of state.

They are accused of using client Medicaid identification numbers to submit false claims. Nearly 200 client identities were fraudulently used to submit claims.

In 2016, following a Medicaid fraud lawsuit, a federal judge ordered LXE Counseling and Batchelor to pay more than $4.6 million in damages for similar practices.
