Parents Charged For Death Of 3-Year-Old With 17 Lb. Tumor
The parents of a toddler who died from cancer were charged with the neglect that led to her Jan. 3 death.
Henry Clarence Lilly III, 49, and Bonnie Beth Mills-Lilly, 42, both of Lawton, made their initial appearance Thursday in Comanche County District Court where each received a felony charge of first-degree manslaughter, records indicate. The crime is punishable by no less than 4 years in prison.
The two are accused of not providing medical care to their 3-year-old daughter that led to her death, according to the charges.
The Comanche County Sheriffs Office began its investigation after authorities received a call on Jan. 3 that the girl was unconscious but breathing at a camper home near Lake Lawtonka at 2704 Oklahoma 58. Sheriff Kenny Stradley said responders found her and six other children living with her parents in a camper. The girl was taken to a local hospital where she died.
