Another Tulsa World letter reject--too understated:

Wow! Representative-Elect George Santos has admitted “embellishing his resume” when in fact he lied about his college degree, his work experience, and now we find out he has a made up family name, he’s claimed to be half Black, he’s not Jewish but rather “Jew-ish”, he has been “openly gay for years” but forgot to mention his divorce from a woman two years ago.

Conclusion? George Santos: the perfect Republican candidate for our time. It takes a Republican to lie about his mother’s death in NYC on 9/11. Obviously, he’s a “winner” endorsed by Trump.

By their silence on Santos, our entire delegation representing Oklahoma is tacitly endorsing his mendacity as a strategy as well.

Maybe not so tacitly—It seem that leaders like Mullin, Hern, Lucas, Cole and Bice have made the cynical calculation that the lies of Santos (so far) are OK, though maybe less impactful than the Big Lie of the election being stolen from Trump in 2020--thus, Santos may need to even further embellish. All our Okies got elected under the noxious Trump Big Lie banner. To an Oklahoma Republican, lying is a winning strategy. Lying: quantity AND quality. Duh.

I look forward to having our people in Washington step up and defend this poor guy from the “nit-picking” press and say George Santos is “our guy—he’s one of us!”
