AEP PSO rate hike before Oklahoma Corporation Commission: one of the largest in history
Proposed rate hike could increase electric bills by 15 percent.
Oklahoma Industrial Energy Consumers filed evidence with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission showing that AEP-PSO customers will face one of the largest rate hikes in state history if the company's settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency and the Sierra Club is approved.
According to OIEC's research, PSO's EPA settlement will cost ratepayers billions of dollars more than necessary and cause rate shock.
The Oklahoma Corporation Commission meets today to decide on approval of this rate hike. Oklahomans pay some of the highest taxes in the country, and utility costs are increasing across the board. City of Tulsa water rates were increased recently, and Cox Communiations just raised prices on internet, telephone, and cable television services.
Take a few minutes and let the Oklahoma Corporation Commission hear from you regarding this proposed rate increase.
