Oregon father of four who told President Biden Lets Go Brandon on Christmas Eve call said he meant it in jest
Updated: Dec. 25, 2021, 8:32 p.m. | Published: Dec. 25, 2021, 11:41 a.m.
By Maxine Bernstein | The Oregonian/OregonLive
A Central Point father of four who wished President Joe Biden and the first lady a wonderful Christmas and added Lets go, Brandon, at the end of a live streamed Santa tracker call told The Oregonian/OregonLive that he didnt intend his parting message to be vulgar.
At the end of the day, I have nothing against Mr. Biden, but I am frustrated because I think he can be doing a better job, said Jared Schmeck, 35, who works for an electric company and was previously a Medford police officer for six years until he resigned in July 2018. I mean no disrespect to him.
{snip}
Schmeck called his remark a joke, and a reflection of his frustration with Bidens policies, including the federal vaccine mandates, inflation and global supply chain problems that have caused shortages in consumer products. ... And now I am being attacked for utilizing my freedom of speech, Schmeck said, adding that hes been receiving some vague but threatening phone calls since the Santa tracker call.
I understand there is a vulgar meaning to Lets go Brandon, but Im not that simple minded, no matter how I feel about him, the 35-year-old father said Christmas morning. He seems likes hes a cordial guy. Theres no animosity or anything like that. It was merely just an innocent jest to also express my God-given right to express my frustrations in a joking manner...I love him just like I love any other brother or sister.
Asked why he resigned from Medford police on July 15, 2018, Schmeck wouldnt say. ... He went on to say he stood 100% behind what I did and what I said.

(2,375 posts)Schmeck the Schmuck is a snowflake who apparently thinks he is the only one who has freedom of speech. No one is supposed to criticize his.
One of those times where it would have been better if he had just kept his mouth shut in the first place. You said it Schmuck, now own it.

And blame the lazy Republicans who dont even bother to discuss a bill or learn what it does for average Americans because theyre only going to vote against it because their mob boss told them to. He is just one more uneducated, ill-informed deplorable.

(72,737 posts)... make them happy. BTW the vaccines and vaccine mandates are proven to save lives, inflation is caused by
have greater demand then there is a supply for certain items and that is in a large part from Joe B. getting our
economy moving again, and the CEO of WalMart is on record thanking President Biden for his work on getting
the supply chain moving again.

(23,116 posts)He now claims his expression during the Presidents phone call was a joke.
Oh, yeah, Jared? Then why did you blurt it out and then hang up? Your behavior was immature and akin to Howard Sterns fans yelling, Bobba buey!
The stunt was childish and cowardly. If he wanted to express his frustrations, he had the President of the United States on the phone! He could have acted like an adult and had a (brief) conversation with the President. Instead, he blurted out a schoolyard taunt then figuratively ran away. Now he hides behind the idea that it was a joke. He doesnt even have the conviction of thought to acknowledge his own political views. His attempts at damage control are amateurish and ineffective.
It was vulgar, stupid and cowardly. Not a great example for his family. Let me add that he probably ruined what could have been an awesome memory for his kids.
What an idiot.

Go see mommy and let her pat you on the head. Maybe she can tell you a nice story and tuck you in. While we use the freedom of speech to attack your and you family business.

(72,737 posts)I would imagine that being on the Medford P.D. gave him and his family medical insurance,
a 401K, good pay, the chance to work as much special duty and or overtime he wanted to,
and a good quality of life too.
Here he is on Xmas Eve getting his son in on telling the POTUS to fuck off as the POTUS
and the first lady were calling kids to wish them a, "Merry Christmas." Plenty of other
pictures of him laughing and smirking as he acted like an asshole during Joe B's call are
on the web but I will not post them.
Odds are he will be fired by noon Monday.
