Five schools in the Central Bucks School District in the Philadelphia suburbs were closed Friday because the district says people within the district were exposed to a confirmed case of Coronavirus.
In a statement posted to the districts website, CBSD said the closures were due to an abundance of caution. School district Superintendent Dr. John Kopicki said the exposure was with a confirmed case in another state.
There have been no confirmed coronavirus ( COVID-19) cases in Pennsylvania.... The district and Bucks County health officials learned of the exposure late Thursday night, Kopicki said. They announced the closure Friday morning.
The closure includes Central Bucks South High School, which has about 1,800 student, two middle schools and two elementary schools.

(9,402 posts)a precaution. The economic impact of 1800 children now at home will be substantial, especially if the closure lasts. Moms and dads have to arrange their schedule for potentially an indefinite period.

(3,245 posts)NORRISTOWN Coronoavirus is spreading in Montgomery County, with two new presumptive cases announced Sunday by health officials.
The two new cases in Montgomery County bring the state total to six.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health said the two new cases announced Sunday are in adults in Montgomery County, in addition to two other Montco cases announced Saturday. The other two cases are in Delaware and Wayne counties.

I also saw on the news a school closing this week because there is a student who is related to one of the Montco patients.
