HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf ordered residents of the state's hardest-hit areas to stay home to help combat the spread of the new coronavirus that has already sickened hundreds and caused six deaths statewide.
Wolf issued the stay-at-home order for Philadelphia and its surrounding counties(Bucks, Montgomery, and Delaware counties); Allegheny County, which includes Pittsburgh; and Monroe County in the Pocono Mountains.
Together, those counties account for 75% of the states confirmed cases of COVID-19. It's the latest in a series of progressively tougher measures imposed by Wolf in the face of a global pandemic that state officials say threatens to swamp hospitals and spike the death toll.
The order was to take effect at 8 p.m. Monday.
Wolf also extended school closures in the state until at least April 6.

(28,394 posts)I see Cuomo on TV and he has such great ideas and plans. I dont think we hear enough from Wolf.
I wonder if Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are making plans like NYC for alternative facilities, etc. How are our supplies of protective gear?
Where are the testing facilities? What was that business at the zoo on Monday and Tuesday?
UPMC was working on a test with a four-hour result (if I remember correctly). What are our research facilities doing?
So many questions for the governor! Hey, Tom step up, would you?

His presser can be seen here - https://www.governor.pa.gov/live/
(I think PCN sometimes covers it if you have cable)
I have found that despite my not having any twitter account, I can actually go to the web versions of twitter for the various municipalities to get info and when they are going to have their press conferences.
And yes, Philly has been investigating alternate sites for surge and Mayor Kenney exploded yesterday about the city's so far futile efforts with the owner of the now-shuttered Hahnemann Hospital for trying to price gouge to let the city lease the building to get it back into a hospital configuration (it had been cleared out and decertified when it closed last September).
This has the archive of his presser yesterday (they use periscope as well) -
