Related: About this forumWhile walking this morning in our racist little town that is littered with trump shrines....
Our local veterinarian who is now retired joined us. He has been a Republican his entire life so we have never discussed politics with him nor have we ever socialized with him. My one friend we walk with put a Biden sign in her yard yesterday and they live in the same neighborhood. He asked if he could walk with us this morning and mentioned her sign....we thought, oh, here we go..but he immediately started bashing tRump. We were gobsmacked...it gave us hope that a died in the wool Republican is voting for Joe Biden. I am hoping this is a good sign for PA.

(15,751 posts)The few hard-edged trumpers I've talked to or known, they've kept their incomes going, and apparently not feel the virus close enough for them to feel much.

(12,930 posts)Just read this morning (NYT) about how there's a real psychological boost/support with the hard copy signs. Biden camp understands.
(unfortunately -- there's still the hesitation borne of fear -- vandalism or retaliation -- because so many of the Trump supporters are truly cray-cray)

(19,632 posts)Much like repug congress people who are afraid of the wrath from trumpf and his followers,
I believe a lot of them are afraid to take their signs down now for fear of vengeance from
their neighborhood trumpf cult. Cults are dangerous and trumpers are. But in the safety of
the voting booth with no one to answer to or knowing, some will do the right thing.

(38,726 posts)We see videos that long time Republicans are not voting for Trump. You are not the only one saying this.
And as a result, Trump will lose, and lose very big...Nothing he can do or say can overcome his ........virus/mouth problem.

(26 posts)to talk about Trump. One reason why I wear a Biden pin or hat is so that others feel they have company and may be emboldened to show their support.

(84,494 posts)I used to. Even had bumper stickers visible in my car's rear window. And I got my tires slashed one night. And worse - it was a night when my then-teenage daughter with a new driver's license borrowed my car. It was during bush/cheney.
I did put a yard sign out this year though. Our neighborhood is full of signs that either say some version of Biden-Yes or some version of trump-No.

(16,342 posts)been surprised at seeing Biden signs in the yards of houses where I didn't expect it. My neighbors across the road have not yet put out a Trump sign like they did in 2016.
I was told a story of neighbors as well as friends, one couple supports Trump and put up a yard sign, their Bide/Dem-supporting neighbors immediately went out and got a Biden/Harris sign for their own yard. LOL!

(4,033 posts)my neighborhood, 5 minute walk, there is a huge yard sign that reads :COPS FOR TRUMP.: This is the same town that the Tree of Life Synagogue shooter is from. I have yet to see our borough address the fact that this shooter felt comfortable living in our boro.
